- A HUSBAND is entitled to half of his deceased wife's estate if she has no children.
- A WIFE is entitled to a quarter share of her deceased husband's estate if she has no children.
- SONS usually inherit twice as much as compared to DAUGHTERS when one of their parents dies.
Under the Muslim law, the rules of inheritance are rather strict. A son takes double the share of a daughter, on the other hand, the daughter is the absolute owner of whatever property she inherits. If there is no brother, she gets half a share.
